In addition to the Rules of Golf, published by the R&A, competitions at Little Hay Golf Club are subject to the club’s rules as set out in its Competition Rules (currently Version 19.4). These rules can be accessed via the club website.(www.littlehaygolfclub.co.uk) At its meeting on the 2nd of November the committee reviewed 2 aspects of these rules.
First, the local rule regarding preferred lies in bunkers (Section 9.6). It was agreed that this local rule should remain in force until the programme of bunker renovation is complete when it will be reviewed again.
Secondly, the rules impose maximum handicaps in many of the club’s competitions. (examples can be found in Sections 3-1Ab, 3-1Cc and 6-2Aa) This rule has not been enforced during the 2021 playing season to avoid overcomplicating the introduction of WHS. It was agreed that these maximum handicaps will be withdrawn for the 2022 season. Regulation WHS handicapping will apply to all Little Hay Golf Club competitions until further notice.
