Saturday 7th October saw the Herts Friendly League season ending Needle Shield event being hoasted at Little Hay Golf Complex. 60 golfers from 5 Public Golf courses in Herfordshire came together for an individual Stableford competition with 12 individual stableford scores from each club being aggregated to decide the winning club of the Needle Shield.

In superb golfing conditions the field started all together in at 08:30 in a shotgun start.
A very close contest saw some great scoring by Little Hay players helping the home team to an overall victory and to the lift the Needle Shield by just 3 stableford points over the Stevenage team and by 11 over Rickmansworth. Little Hay’s first win in the contest since 2016.
Individual Honours going to:
1st place: Nigel Hopkinson (Little Hay) 42 Points
2nd Place: Greg Galbraith (Little Hay) 41 Points
3rd Place: David McGuigan (Stevenage) 40 Points
Panshanger Golf Club were also presented with the Herts Friendly League Trophy for winning the overall league.
