To all 2023 new members and Ladies’ Academy members,
We are delighted to welcome you all to our club and we wish you many happy years of golfing in our community.
While we have had the pleasure of meeting several of our new members on the golf course, we appreciate how difficult it may seem to become integrated in a new club and to start participating in our many competitions and events, never mind figuring out how to work the mobile applications the club uses for these events.
To help smooth this process, we invite all our new members who have joined us this year and all our Ladies’ Academy members to our ‘New Members’ Day’, scheduled for Monday 1 May, starting at 8am. This will give you an opportunity to meet some of our longstanding members and to get a round of golf in the books for your handicap. We have up to 40 places available across the tee times we have reserved, and we would love to see as many of you as possible joining us out on the course. The first tee off time is at 8.36am. The option to play 9 holes only will also be considered based on demand.
In addition to playing some golf, club volunteers will be available from 12pm help you with various aspects of our golf club, including:
- How to use ‘HowDidIDo’ (HDID), England Golf (MyEG) and ‘Chronogolf’ phone apps and our website members’ area.
- Provide information about our competitions, matches and ‘roll-ups’ and how to enter and score the different competition types, e.g., Medal and Stableford
- Explaining how the new World Handicap System (WHS) works and what your handicap index means for you.
Chris Whitelegg, golf professional, will be running a free Putting Clinic on the putting practice area.
- Sessions at 1.15pm and 2.15pm. Just turn up, no need to book.
Sandwiches and refreshments will also be available in the afternoon.
You are welcome to bring a golfing friend as well as membership offers will be available on the day.
