The Seniors travelled to St Albans to face a strong Batchwood Hall team containing several low handicap players. It was an opportunity for our team to record an unprecedented third successive victory.
It was always going to be a tough task as away victories have so far eluded us this season. However the team responded in spectacular fashion and recorded a fine 51/2 to a 1/2 victory.
Although it appears a comfortable win several of the matches were very close with a single hole being the winning margin. Special mention should go to Dave Smith and Tony Grainger who recorded their third straight victory. Over all it was a fine team performance.
We should also acknowledge the friendly environment the matches were played in. Batchwood Hall were excellent hosts.
The Little Hay Seniors play their next match at home against Cheshunt on the 18th August.
