Course Slope Rating
The WHS has required that all courses are assessed for their difficulty. These are called Slope Ratings. The Slope Rating for Little Hay from the Yellow Tees at Little Hay is 126 (as a comparison, Ashridge has a slope rating of 113, so is assessed as an easier course than Little Hay). Your handicap is based on a Slope Rating of 113, so when you play Little Hay, you get additional shots. The Slope Ratings help you work out how many extra shots you have, although How Did I Do and My England Golf do this for you automatically when you book in for a round.
